Join now Find a Panel member The SCCP Panel has transitioned from the Engineer to the Contract Panel , which was set up as a pilot programme by Engineering New Zealand and the Construction Sector Accord in 2022-2023. All members have signed up to a Code of Conduct and support each other within the group. The SCCP will continue to welcome membership applications from ICs and EtCS who wish to be evaluated and included alongside existing Panel members, furthering the goal of creating a go-to platform for the industry. Find a Panel member SCCP Management Committee The Management Committee of the Society of Construction Contract Practitioners (SCCP) was appointed by the Steering Group that oversaw the pilot phase of the EtC Panel. The Management Committee now supervises the SCCP. Committee members are Gavin Shaw (Chair), Angela Ashworth, Allan Barclay, Craig Byers, Nick Beale, Sina Cotter Tait, Sharon Durno, Cathy Forrest, Mark Mabey, Tim Palin, Lawrie Saegers, and Craig Wheatley. Read more Upcoming events Find out more Although I am not an engineer by discipline, I have extensive experience working alongside project managers, contractors, and consultants where understanding the practical application of construction contracts, particularly NZS 3910, is essential to ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and in accordance with contractual obligations. I am drawn to SCCP because it represents the professional standards, ethical practice, and collaborative approach that underpin New Zealand’s construction industry. I value the Society’s emphasis on accountability, competence, and continuous learning in contract administration, and I see membership as an opportunity to both strengthen my own practice and contribute to improving contract clarity and project outcomes across the sector. My interest is in continuing to bridge the operational, commercial, and governance aspects of project delivery — ensuring fair, transparent, and well-administered contracts that support sustainable and professional industry relationships.
